Negura Bunget
Tour in October
-
Negură Bunget
is preparing an European Tour right after the release of the OM album.
The tour is scheduled for the second part of October,
first part of November. We will bring the whole backline with us (including
the drum set, guitar and bass combos), we'll have an opening band for
all the dates, and we'll coordinate the promotion for the tour with the
promotion of the new album. That will mean 1000 promo CD's sent to the media,
adds in all relevant magazines, thousands poster and flyers. If you are
interested in booking a date on the tour, please get in contact
(contact@negurabunget.com) to
arrange the details.
Season of Mist
is proud to announce the
signing of the progressive doom-metal legends, CONFESSOR! Emerging from over a
decade of hibernation, the band has returned to form, hungrier and more
focused than ever. As a precursor to the band's upcoming long player,
"Unraveled", due out in early autumn, Season of Mist will release the limited
edition CD-single, "Sour Times". Scheduled for a June release, this soon-to-be
collector's item will mainly be made available for purchase to the die-hard
fans. The release will contain 2 new songs; "Sour Times" and "Hibernation", a
radio edit of the title track plus a live video! Also included on the limited
CD with be PC Interactive gems such as band photos, a screen saver and more!
Already listen to an extract of "Sour Times" here
The Gathering
are currently rehearsing
again for new upcoming DVD recordings, as well as work in a new album. The
band plans to hit the studio in autumn 2005, with a possible release date at
the beginning of 2006.
Ambient darkwave/metal act
Peccatum
completed the release of The Moribund People EP. This release contains two new
songs and a special cover of Bathory’s legendary “For All Those Who Died”. The
EP will also include a music video for the title track.
THE DILLINGER ESCAPE
PLAN will join
MEGADETH, DREAM THEATER, FEAR FACTORY, NEVERMORE and others on this summer's
just-announced "Gigantour". Set to launch in late July, Gigantour is a
six-week festival trek whose moniker was inspired by the classic 1960s cartoon
"Gigantor" and will criss-cross North America. On the topic of touring with
DILLINGER, MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine commented, "I think THE DILLINGER
ESCAPE PLAN are really going to add something different to the tour and bring
some new people in."
ABORYM
sign a two album contract with Season of Mist. After comparing several offers
from European and American labels, the band decided to sign with Season of
Mist, in their opinion the best “quality black metal” label. ABORYM record
their new album during April-May 2005 in Rome, Italy. The line-up has
undergone several changes. ABORYM proudly presents its new members Bard G.
Eithun aka Faust (SCUM, ex- EMPEROR) and Prime Evil (MYSTICUM). Faust will
play the drums on the forthcoming new album. Drummer Faust says: “Through the
years my contribution to ABORYM varied from writing a few lyrics, doing some
spoken passages, as well as playing with them live. I have great respect for
the band and the people behind it. ABORYM is highly innovative and influential
as far as the mixture of traditional black metal and electronics goes. I see
my position in the band strengthening when becoming a permanent part of the
band. I am going down to Rome later this year in order to participate on the
recording of the fourth ABORYM album. I think it should easily surpass
everything they have done earlier. It should be classic to say the least.”
Prime Evil (MYSTICUM) joined ABORYM as new vocalist and front man. Prime Evil
is the new voice of death now. As everybody knows Attila is back in MAYHEM,
and ABORYM wish all the best for him and his band. Attila Csihar, of course,
will do some vocals on the new album. ABORYM is also working on a special
track (yet untitled) with Mr. Richard K Szabo from TWZ (Sweden).
Manic Music
has pledged a portion of their proceeds from the direct wholesale/mailorder
sales of Chuck Schuldiner's 'Zero Tolerance' to The American Cancer Society.
The two-disc set, which includes the unfinished Control Denied tracks Chuck
was working on at the time of his death, is available in the U.S. since
February 22nd.
VOID OF SILENCE
farewell. After 11 years since we started this adventure, after 6 years since
the band started its official activities and after three album released
together as VOID OF SILENCE, we decided to put an end to this band. We took
this decision with sadness and bitterness, also we must admit we yet
reached our initial goal. We would like to thank our worlwide fans, those who
always trusted us and those who supported us along the way. A special thank
you to Fabban and Alan Nemtheanga, who gave us the possibility to release such
incredible albums and to the whole code666 staff, always supportive towards
our music. A great hail also to our old friends Andrea Toro, Alessandro
Bianchi, Riccardo Tran and Fabio Restano, who were beside us in the beginning.
We are not leaving the musical scene, just we will wear different dresses and
walk different ways, together as usual. Maybe one day things will run in a
different way, who knows... Bye and thanx to all". - Riccardo Conforti and
Ivan Zara.
Reunited Dutch metallers
GOREFEST
are currently looking for pictures taken on the group's "Chapter 13" tour —
"either supporting PRIEST or our own shows, live pics, backstage, anything you
thought was worth saving for later," the group's drummer, Ed Warby, writes on
their web site. To submit material, write to: ed_warby@hotmail.com. GOREFEST
recently inked a multi-album deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The band are
currently writing songs for what will reportedly be "a very heavy new album."
A late 2005 release is expected. GOREFEST released several CDs through the
Nuclear Blast label in the early 1990s before switching to SPV for their last
album, 1998's "Chapter 13".
Osmose Productions
has set a May 9 European release date for the first-ever live album by Finnish
extreme metallers IMPALED NAZARENE, entitled 'Death Comes In 26 Carefully
Selected Pieces'. Recorded last December at Tavastia club in Helsinki,
Finland, 'DCI26CSP' features 26 songs from the band's catalogue, including
songs from their 7" EPs. The album was mixed at Sonic Pump studio by the
band's own soundman, Tapio Pennanen. Mika Jussila mastered the album at
Finnvox studio.
According to a statement from
MARDUK's
management, the group's drummer Emil Dragutinovic's arm is healing well after
it was broken in a fight back in February. The band plan to be back touring
torwards the end of the summer. MARDUK are currently putting the finishing
touches on the videos for the songs "Throne of Rats" and "The Hangman of
Prague". As previously reported, Dragutinovic had his arm broken while he was
trying to protect himself from a swinging bat during a fight with several men
on February 12. MARDUK's ninth full-length album, "Plague Angel", was released
in the U.S. last month. The album was issued in Europe in late November via
Blooddawn/Regain Records.
"Maniac
is out of legendary black metal band MAYHEM and back in comes
Attila Csihar.
He will – with immediate effect – take over Maniac’s role as front figure.
Although many rumors flourished over the past months, nothing was decided
until now. The reason for this change in line-up lies in more private matters,
but has also to do with Maniac’s inability to tour. Maniac was, and will
always be a part of our legacy, and it has been an honor to work with him for
the last 10 years. Respect!" - Mayhem
The Gathering
will be taking a break following the conclusion of their current European tour
in order for lead singer Anneke van Giersbergen to give birth to her first
child. They will resume touring in November 2005.
