Trollech is a nice Pagan/Black Metal band from
Czech Republic. I can’t say I’ve heard much of this kind of music lately
(except maybe the Lithuanian from Obtest), when a band prays they play
Pagan Metal and they also sound like Pagan Metal when you listen to
them. Fortunately you can sense Trollech’s paganism from the first touches
of their music. They’re just a simple straight forward band, but there’s
a lot of dedication beneath it. And you can notice it right away! The
production of the album is not so great, it’s weak and sterile, yet
it doesn’t take that much from the actual music. But the cover… that’s
a lot better. The same Pagan feeling all over it.

The Czech trio from
Trollech offers us a nice Pagan/Black metal, simple, quite raw and direct.
The tempo varies from mid to fast and aggressive, based upon guitars
and drums; there’s no use of keyboards. The few atmospheric parts add
a nice touch to the coldness of the album. Yet, they could have used
more folk/traditional elements along the album; they lack almost entirely.
There is something strange about the vocals during some passages; I
don’t know, something rather forced and artificial. It’s ok for the
rest and I really liked the simplicity of their style. Those of you
who like photo-based front covers might find this one inspiring; it’s
kind of a moody. (www.eclipse-prod.sf.cz).
